Catering packaging — table roll, cling film, bags

Catering and restaurants consume four items: disposable table roll, food stretch wrap, freezer bags and nylon bags. Selection guide and factory-direct supply.

Catering and restaurants typically consume four items: disposable tablecloth on the roll for tables and events, food stretch wrap for covering trays and containers, freezer bags for storing ingredients, and nylon bags for packing and transport. All on the roll, sold by the kilo factory-direct.

Catering differs from a restaurant in one important way: consumption is daily and predictable. Which means that if you find the right supplier and buy factory-direct, the price difference becomes a large number over a year. This page separates the four items almost every commercial kitchen uses.

Table roll: why the roll wins

A roll cuts to whatever length you need — a two-person table or a twenty-person table from the same roll. Pre-cut sheets that do not match your table size are either wasted or too short. For catering serving events of different sizes every day, the roll is more economical.

Food stretch: cling, not gauge

Food stretch wrap has one job: cling to the rim of the container and keep air out. What does that is the film's cling and stretch, not its raw thickness. A thin film with good cling beats a thicker one without it. This is a different product from pallet stretch, which restrains industrial loads.

About food contact

A fair and important question. The practical rule: film in direct contact with food must be produced from virgin, non-recycled raw material, and that has to be requested explicitly at order stage. If your use is food-related, write it in the enquiry so it is produced on that basis and recorded in the specification. Do not assume it is the default.

Do you sell the tablecloth on the roll or pre-cut?

On the roll, in custom widths. Cut to whatever length the table needs — more economical for catering with varying table sizes.

What is the difference between food stretch and pallet stretch?

Food stretch is thin and its job is to cling to the container rim and keep air out; pallet stretch is thicker and restrains loads in transit. They are separate products.

Is your film suitable for food contact?

Food-contact film is produced from virgin, non-recycled material and must be requested explicitly at order stage so it is produced on that basis and recorded in the specification.
